Pure, aromatic, varietal and expressive bouquet with a fresh lime, quince and apricot stone drive, there’s contrasting floral scents of jasmine and white rose underpinned by a fresh polished stone mineral quality. Dry and very sleek on the palate with flavours of fresh citrus and lime-flower, some white fleshed stone fruits both accentuated by a backbone of acidity and gentle white spice tension. 5 stars ***** ”This is the sort of 'dry' Riesling New Zealand needs a lot more of. Estate-grown and hand- harvested at Bendigo, the distinctive 2021 vintage (5*) is fractionally off-dry (5.3 grams/litre of residual sugar). It was mostly handled in tanks, but 38 per cent of the blend was fermented with indigenous yeasts in old French oak barrels. Bright, light lemon/green, it is fragrant and full-bodied, with concentrated, ripe, citrusy, slightly spicy flavours, showing very good complexity, and a savoury, finely balanced finish.
